NICE is always seeking more IDEAS, so if your idea is not on the above list, please let us know.
A training flat for people with LD/Autism and others – to try out independent living by self/with another, to see if they are ready. This would help to reduce tenancies failing and resulting loss of self confidence which would need to be rebuilt. Would also flag up what independent living skills training needed. Training flat could be used to teach small groups the range of skills needed for independent living – eg cleaning, bed making, using washing machine etc. If the kitchen wasn’t too small, it would be possible to run cooking classes for groups of 2/3 as well.
